Brad Parrott is a trial lawyer with extensive trial experience in state, federal, administrative and arbitration tribunals throughout the United States. Mr. Parrott is frequently asked to parachute into complex or high stakes matters as lead trial counsel. He represents ENR top 400 general contractors, specialty contractors, design professionals, owners and developers throughout the United States in all facets of the construction life cycle. Mr. Parrott serves as national litigation counsel for several large companies managing and leading their litigated matters. Brad’s experience as lead counsel involves litigated disputes throughout the United States in federal courts, state courts, American Arbitration Association, JAMS, ASBCA, CBCA, Court of Claims and private ADR dispute proceedings. His work includes disputes involving a broad range of project types and delivery methods. Mr. Parrott also serves as lead counsel for the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts including GMP, design-build, DBO, CMAA, CMAR and EPC agreements across a variety of market sectors including sports arenas, hospitals, power generation, infrastructure, water/wastewater, correctional institutions, education, multi-family, municipal, manufacturing, commercial, retail offices and institutional. A significant portion of Mr. Parrott’s practice involves representing Federal Government Contractors as both project counsel and disputes counsel. Brad and the HLP team have an intimate knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) governing most Federal Construction Projects. Mr. Parrott has led internal investigations and defended civil allegations of violations of the False Claims Act and the Buy American Act.
Related to his construction practice, Mr. Parrott is frequently requested to defend large catastrophic insured claims by both individual insurers and syndicated domestic and global insurance towers. He is also frequently engaged by insurance carriers to serve as trial counsel in high-risk cases.
Mr. Parrott is the son of a general contractor and grew up working on construction sites. He is married to a fellow lawyer and they have one daughter who is in college. When not working, Brad enjoys the outdoors and spending time on the golf course.
